Buster Bear on permanent display at the Airforce Museum of Alberta
Our own Buster Bear on permanent display at the AirForce Museum Society of Alberta's Cold War hangar. With Don Matthews, a retired pilot and AFMSA chair.
About the episode: "Air Bear! Buster Bear keeps the Cold War from Getting Hot!"
In this episode of “Go West, Young Bear, A Buster Bear Adventure”, our hero is startled awake by an alarm siren, and a TV message announcing that a nuclear bomb has fallen on Canada. Well, not really. It’s only the entry hall of the Air Force Museum’s Cold War Exhibit in Calgary, Alberta. Buster is shown around the gallery by a volunteer, Ben West, who helps people – and bears – understand this important chapter in Canadian history. The fear of nuclear war was felt in every home, in every country around the world during the Cold War. Luckily, though, in the 4-decade conflict, not a single bomb was dropped, and not a single shot was fired. Buster uses what he learns to find Nemo’s next clue, and blasts off into the next leg of his mission.
Special note: This MOM (Multimedia Outreach Module) was developed in partnership with the Air Force Museum Society of Alberta (Military Museums), with extra photos supplied by DND. Stay tuned for more Buster Bear adventures!
